How was the business honors trip? What was your favorite part about it?

The biz ho trip was really cool, it was extremely meaningful to learn about business in an international setting and see how corporate world differs from america. It was cool to work with kids our age to work on a case and I learned how important it is to bridge a gap and its becoming more and more important to have global literacy skills. We learned about how presentation styles are different in other parts of the world and we learned how to research markets that are different than our own. As a business person you have to be able to understand markets that are different than ones that you know, such as brazilian women and millenials.

My favorite part was taking a helicopter ride over rio. I’m a big thrill seeker and i”ve always wanted to go on a helicopter ride and I never thought I’d be able to do it over a place over rio. Also I love dancing so learning how to samba and tango was really cool.

Have you been working? What is your job/what do you do?

I work at Nordstrom as a salesperson. I work in the dresses department. Dresses is really cool because my boss says it’s a very emotional department. WHen you are shopping in a normal section its not that big of a deal. When you go to the dress department it’s usually for a big event, a wedding/funeral You are trying to help people find perfect for the occasion and make them feel good about themselves. I like this job because I get to work with people and use my knowledge of fashion and style to help people feel their best.

Did you go to any concerts/festivals?

I went to the Kendrick Lamar concert and I’m going to Lolla. I went with some friends from home and one of who plays soccer at Westpoint.

Did you meet up with any BC friends over the summer? What did you do

Me and Sarah Wheeler recently hangout. We went to strawberry fest, I’ve gone ever since I was little. They shut down the downtown and sell all these strawberry foods and the whole thing is based around strawberries. We then got dinner and went to Woodfield. I also saw O’Shea and Markos at Nordstrom while I was working. It was such a nice surprise to see them both during the summer.

What are you most excited about for 1st semester?

I’m very excited to be on the recruitment side of both BC and my sorority. I’m really excited to bring new people into the organization and to work with my co-coordinator Nick and plan an amazing dad’s day. I’m also really excited to go on our retreat because ours was snowed out. I’m excited to start leaning into being a mentor in terms of needing mentorship in all areas of my involvement, Business Honors, BC, my sorority, I’m excited to started sharing my knowledge with those younger than me.
