What has been a highlight of your summer?

The highlight of my summer has been reconnecting with my high school friends, golfing with my dad, and kayaking with my mom.

Have you been working/what is your job/what do you do?

I work as a Box Office Intern with the Joliet Slammers which are a minor league baseball team in the Frontier League stationed in Joliet. I primarily sell tickets, set up group events, make and answer calls, help manage the ticket office, and work with the gameday operations of the team to make sure games go smoothly.

Do you have a word to describe this summer?

My summer has been advantageous. I’ve met a lot of awesome people, I’ve learned a lot about what I want to do in my career, and I’ve gotten a lot of experience doing different work and volunteering.

Did you learn anything this summer?

I learned that being personable is really really important no matter where you are. Having a great resume or a great reputation helps, but being able to talk to different people in different settings really puts you on another level.

What are you most looking forward to for fall 2018?

I’m looking forward to being more involved in the groups I am a part of as well as joining more clubs and being a part of more groups of people. There’s so many opportunities at u of i and I want to experience as much as I can
